Prayers and Squares
Stitched with Prayer
Prayers and Squares is a ministry of prayer, care, and fellowship centered around the making of prayer quilts for those in need of comfort and support. Each quilt is lovingly created, blessed during worship, and presented to the congregation, where members tie knots in its threads while offering individual prayers for the recipient. As the ministry’s motto reminds us, “It’s not about the quilt; it’s all about the prayers.”
Led by the Rev. Dr. Marlene Oaks, the group meets on the second and fourth Fridays of each month from 10:00 a.m. to noon in Room 1. Everyone is welcome, and no quilting experience is necessary. There are many ways to participate, including cutting, piecing, sewing, and preparing the threads for tying.
